Our Work

HCG conservators are established researchers and bench practitioners with deep knowledge of regional architectural and art history, as well as conservation concerns specific to the Pacific Northwest. We are committed to bringing our state-of-the art knowledge and inter-disciplinary experience to every project, providing proposals with treatment protocols and materials to achieve the optimal result for your project goals and budget.

PAINTING

HCG Painting conservation practice is guided by knowledge and understanding of the technical art history of a broad spectrum of works, as well as the history of prior treatment, and is specialized in the treatment of large scale public murals. HCG seeks to provide a tailored treatment to the specific needs of each painting, drawing from traditional and state-of-the-art conservation tool kit.

ARCHITECTURE

Our approach to Architectural Conservation combines science, craft, and advanced technology to carefully assess, analyze, and repair architectural material using sustainable practices. We combine assessment and treatment to preserve the original material and construction techniques. Our work is performed on-site or in our conservator’s labs.

OBJECTS

HCG Object Conservation focuses on maintaining the integrity and authenticity of an object. We take a least possible intervention approach and use reversible techniques to support an object long-term conservation. Long-term preservation of important cultural objects is the goal of HTC conservators. Our approach may range from general observations to specific treatment applications and routine annual maintenance procedures.
